These Terms of Use (these “Terms”) apply to all users who access or use (“you”) the Face Recognition Datasets tool available on the Exposing.ai website (“Exposing.ai” or the “Site”) provided by STOP and Adam Harvey (“us”, “we”, “our”). By using Exposing.ai, you agree to these Terms. We may make changes to these Terms from time to time. If we make changes, we will post a respective notification and the amended Terms to Exposing.ai and update the “Effective Date” above. Such changes will apply to you as of such Effective Date.
Exposing.ai is an independent and academic art and research project focusing on the origins and endpoints of image datasets used for machine learning and artificial intelligence systems. Exposing.ai is a research and art project published as a website including essays, analyses, graphics, data in downloadable formats, and data visualizations (collectively comprising and referred to as “Exposing.ai”, the Site, and the “Services”).
Please refer to our Privacy Policy for information about how we collect, use and disclose information about you when you use Exposing.ai. You acknowledge and agree that your use of Exposing.ai is subject to our Privacy Policy.
Subject to these Terms, we grant you permission to use Exposing.ai, provided that: (a) you use Exposing.ai solely for your personal, private, noncommercial use; (b) you do not copy, publicly display or distribute any part of Exposing.ai in any medium without prior written authorization; and (c) you do not alter or modify any part of Exposing.ai.
You may not access or use, or attempt to access or use, the Services to take any action that could harm us or a third party. You may not use the Services in violation of applicable laws or in violation of our or any third party’s intellectual property or other proprietary or legal rights. You further agree that you shall not attempt (or encourage or support anyone else's attempt) to circumvent, reverse engineer, decrypt, or otherwise alter or interfere with the Services, or any content thereof, or make any unauthorized use thereof.

The foregoing are the property of Adam Harvey and are protected by the United States copyright, trade dress, and trademark laws, international conventions, and all other relevant intellectual property and proprietary rights, and applicable laws. You agree not to sell, license, distribute, copy, modify, publicly perform or display, transmit, publish, edit, adapt, create derivative works from, or otherwise make unauthorized use of our Materials.
Exposing.ai is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including, but not limited to, implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, and non-infringement. In addition, while Exposing.ai aims to publish only verified, reliable information, we do not represent or warrant that Exposing.ai is accurate, reliable, current or error-free. You assume the entire risk as to the quality and performance of Exposing.ai.
These Terms shall be governed and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of New York, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Our failure to enforce any right or provision of these Terms will not be considered a waiver of those rights. If any provision of these Terms is held to be invalid or unenforceable by a court, the remaining provisions of these Terms will remain in effect. These Terms constitute the entire agreement between us regarding our Service, and supersede and replace any prior agreements we might have between us regarding our Service. Contact Information. All provisions of the Terms which by their nature should survive termination shall survive termination, including, without limitation, ownership provisions, warranty disclaimers, indemnity and limitations of liability.
We reserve the right, at our sole discretion, to modify or replace these Terms at any time. By continuing to use or access our Service after revisions become effective, you agree to be bound by the revised terms. If you do not agree to the revised terms, please do not use the Service.
